Married Philip Edwin Houston at Zion Lutheran Church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania  "We were married from my grandmother's house since neither of us lived in Harrisburg.  The bride and her party arrived with plenty of time to spare.  The families were seated.  The guests entered the church and settled in the pews waiting for the ceremony to start.  But rumor had it that the bridegroom had wandered off!  What was more important, he had to decide, the wedding or the cattle sale at the farm show building....more than a little guilty, arriving late and wet!"

"After the wedding reception....we left for a week's honeymoon,  The first night was spent in Baltimore at the Lord Baltimore Hotel.  We visited the eastern shore of Maryland....then travelled on to Atlantic City, New Jersey, where I had spent my growing up summers.  On the way home we visited my parents in New York City where we attended a musical on Broadway."

Celebrated 50th Wedding Anniversary.  Friends and family gathered for a party at Sally's house.
